Courtney McDonald

Courtney is a new member of the Case’s Music family. She started her singing career at the age of 8, initially through Thomas Walls School of Music, and later joining in with the Algoma Conservatory of Music. Deciding to pursue a career in performance arts, she graduated from Algoma University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, specializing in Classical Voice, and receiving the Excellence Award in Music. During her stay at Algoma U she also took up choir and was a vocalist in the Jazz Ensemble. Courtney also finished a certificate program in Independent Music Production at Seneca College in Toronto, learning skills from songwriting and recording, to music business and marketing. She then went on to work at the North by Northeast Music, Film & Conference Festival (NXNE) as the Trades and Events Coordinator for the next five years.

Most recently you could find her singing and playing bass with The Wild Iris, singing as part of the musical duo Stone Orchid, as a soprano in the Algoma Festival Choir, and the choir at St. Luke’s Cathedral, as well as performing in various theatrical performances. Courtney brings a broad range of vocal styles to Case’s Music and is eager to help students find their own unique voice too.
